The person who raised the most sponsorship for our North Wales Coast Bikeathon 2011 won a weekend's stay at this beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds, thanks to David & Jo Pullin of Priory Farm Holidays (www.prioryfarmholidays.com). Their stunning cottages are located in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside on their working farm in the pretty village of Leonard Stanley, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Our family have personally stayed at Willow Cottage recently, and had a fabulous time - especially watching the cows being milked and feeding the baby calves...

If you make any enquiries, or book one of the cottages, please mention you saw them on our website!

Our chairperson, Debbie, was lucky enough to meet singer Jonathan Ansell (ex-G4) before his show recently. She took along a Luke bear (official charity bear) for his daughter, and a Forget-Me-Not pin badge. To her amazement, he came on in the second half of his show wearing the pin! The photo above shows Jonathan during the show, and then with Debbie after the show still wearing the pin!

'In My View' - Photography Book by Debbie Hickmott

Congratulations to Debbie, our chairperson, who has designed a collection of her beautiful photographs, which is now available to purchase online for a fantastic price at www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1447576 - Debbie is donating all profits from sales (this will be at least 70%, as costs are charged by Blurb for transferring payment) to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Denbighshire & District Branch. Our family personally know how important research is into the cancer as her husband has Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.

We have changed our name! - January 2010

As you may have noticed on our home page, Leukaemia Research has had a name change! Our Head Office made the decision to change the name of the charity to 'Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research', which better reflects the work that we do.

Please be assured though we still stand for the same things, and our work continues to raise much needed funds to find a cure...

Meet the Antons

We have teamed up with childrens author Tony Mythen the creator of The Antons. The Antons early learning books provide more than just learning your ABCs. This unique approach to reading helps encourage simple moral values and standards without the child realising it.
Everytime you buy a book you can choose us as your chosen charity
and we receive a donation from every sale.

Bells & Bows Christmas Dinner Dance a complete success!!! - 22nd December 2007

Last night was our first large event as a fundraising group, and I think it's safe to say that it went off with a bang (in more respects than one!). The evening raised an absolutely fantastic £2500, which is more than we could ever have hoped for. Please click here for more information about the evening's frivolities!

Great news for Debbie & Terry! - 28th November 2007

Well, today we have some absolutely fantastic news - Debbie and Terry have sold their house! For those of you who don't know Debbie and Terry, they are our branch chairman and treasurer respectively. Terry is a sufferer of CML leukaemia. As a result of his illness, the pair have had their house on the market for a couple of years so that they can move to the Denbighshire area. After a long frustrating wait, a couple have placed an offer on their house, which they have accepted. Of course we will keep you updated on their progress!

Tesco Collection a success! - 23rd/24th November 2007

We were very pleased to be offered a spot to have a collection table at the front of the Tesco store in Abergele last Friday and Saturday. Debbie & Terry covered all of Friday, raising a fab £180 throughout the day, followed by Cerries, Andy, Dave & Dee supervising the collection on Saturday. At 5pm on Saturday we had £200 in the bucket, so all together the two days raised a fantastic £380. We met some lovely people (as we usually do on our collections!) - including a couple of leukaemia sufferers, or relatives of patients. If you did chat to us, do come and say hello in our forum - it'd be great to hear from you! Thanks to all who donated.

We have all been eagerly awaiting the launch of our site forum...and it's now open for business! The forum has been designed to provide a place for both volunteers and patients alike, and is a place to relax and chat with others who have been touched by this disease. We really do hope that in time we will build a strong community for those in the North Wales area faced with cancers of the blood, and are looking forward to meeting you all soon! We are proud to present our brand new website! - 4th October 2007

We are so proud to introduce you to our brand new website! We hope that you are enjoying navigating round it so far.

We have, for some months now, been looking for a sponsor to fund a website for our group. With the internet being such an integral part of daily life, we have always felt that a website would be crucial to our success as a fundraising branch. All of the money that we raise goes direct to Head Office, where it is then used to fund the vital research taking place. Therefore we have been waiting for someone who is willing to sponsor us to pay for a website on our behalf.

On recommendation of a friend, we contacted Jan & Terry of JK Design Services, who are based on the Wirral. They have very kindly donated their time, effort & expertise to set our website up, and NameHog Ltd have also very generously donated the domain and hosting (
www.namehog.net). We are so grateful to them for all that they have done – if you wish to contact them you can visit www.jkdesignservices.co.uk or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
