Isle of Man Bike and Unicycle Ride November 2010
TOTAL RAISED - A FANTASTIC £1438.94!!!

Dan, Andy, Carl and Jim have been fundraising for our charity in November 2010. They have cycled around the Isle of Man from the 6th November, so please support them in their endeavour.
Whilst Dan and Andy used conventional bikes, Carl and Jim did the 120 miles on UNICYCLES!!!!!
Daniel Cumisky

Daniel Cumisky has recently finished his degree at Chester University aged twenty three, where he studied Photography and Graphic Design. Since leaving Chester to move back to his home town of Prestatyn, he has taken up cycling and as such decided he wanted a bit of a challenge. He asked Carl and Andy, two of his old college friends if they would like to join him cycling around the coast of the Isle of Man to raise money for charity. The husband of a colleague of Daniel’s has leukaemia and so this was the charity he decided he wanted to raise money for. He hopes to take part in similar events in the future via unicycle after improving his fitness levels to be able to ride one for further periods.
Carl Richardson

Carl Richardson lives in Conwy, North Wales and taught himself to unicycle back in 2000 while attending a circus skills workshop in college. After mastering the basics of unicycling Carl decided he would explore the sport further, and a chance discovery online led him to uncover the world of extreme and mountain unicycling. Watching the various films and seeing other unicyclists do impossible tricks, stunts and rides left a mark on Carl and he set out to do the same and more.
After losing a close relative to cancer, Carl decided to raise money for charity, so he set himself the challenge of riding his unicycle down Snowdon. The event was a success and raised a massive total of £1000 for charity. This left Carl eager to raise even more money for good causes in the future and is now planning to ride around the coast of the Isle of Man with his friends Andy Noon, Dan Cumisky and Jim Williams for the Leukaemia Research Denbighshire, with the kind support of ‘1868 Racing’ in Llanrwst. With the Snowdonia national park on his doorstep, Carl had the perfect practise ground and he began to push himself to do bigger and better things.
Andrew Noon

Andrew Noon is 23 years old and currently living in Rhyl. Earlier this year he became very enthusiastic about mountain biking and is constantly on the look out for new challenges. He has also started to learn how to unicycle with the help of his friend Carl who first got him interested when they did a course together at Coleg Llandrillo. Over the past two years Andrew has lost two close relatives to cancer so when his friend Dan suggested a fundraising trip to the Isle of Man he jumped at the chance. Andy is pleased to have the opportunity to use his passion for riding to raise money for leukaemia research. On this trip he will not only be riding with the team but is also tasked with providing support to the two unicyclists. Andy plans to do further fundraising with his friends in the future, and would eventually like to join them on a unicycle of his own.
James Williams
James ‘captain Jim’ Williams lives in Llandudno Junction, north Wales and learned to ride a unicycle at a weekly class in a school sports hall, when he was only 10. After the course ended Jim didn’t unicycle for around 15 years until a chance meeting with Carl Richardson and his 36 inch wheel led him to rediscover the sport, and 2 days later buy his own unicycle. Jim now has a nimbus nightrider pro 36 inch wheel unicycle for distance riding, a 19 inch wheeled nimbus custom for trials and a 24 inch wheeled nimbus muni for mountain and down hill riding which he recently rode down Snowdon as part of his training regime.
After only having rediscovered unicycling for a few months Jim was approached by Carl to join him, Dan Cumisky and Andy Noon to ride around the coast of the Isle of Man for Leukaemia Research Denbighshire, planned for November 2010. Jim is planning to make the charity event an annual thing and hopes to progress to bigger, better and more awesome routes in the future.
